We are currently recruiting for School Age Program Site Supervisors to become part of our talented and committed child care community for our summer programs.

Term & hours of work:    

  • Monday June 29 to Friday August 28, 2026
  • Monday to Friday: 8 hour shifts that include a half hour unpaid lunch
  • Program Hours: 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
  • Wage is $30.29/hour
  • Successful applicants will be available to work any assigned shift within identified program hours.
  • Successful applicants will be available to work the entire summer program.
  • Summer programs are at various locations across the city; ability to travel is an asset.

Qualifications:    

  • Early Childhood Educators, with proof of registration with the College of ECEs, preferred, 
  • Or, Post-secondary training in child/family related studies, or,
  • Experience working with school age children in a full-day setting

Successful applicants must be available for mandatory training sessions prior to July: dates & times to be determined.

Skills required:

  • Experience leading and mentoring staff
  • Experience working in school age full-day programs
  • Excellent program planning and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as a team member
  • Knowledge of the needs and developmental stages of school age children
  • Knowledge of LCC’s Policies & Procedures & Program Statement, as well as Ministry of Education regulations

Position responsibilities:

  • Advance preparation of summer sites: ie toy requests, outdoor equipment lists, craft orders, plans excursions, etc.
  • To participate directly in the program as a team member
  • To mentor staff in providing a safe, healthy environment for school age children through responsible supervision and decision making
  • To assist staff in creating a balanced program of activities suitable for a full-day summer program
  • To guide staff in effective communication with parents
  • Support staff within ‘Understanding the Child’ and/or ‘Program and Child Support’ processes
  • Purchase program supplies for all programs on site
  • Liaise with summer program Coordinators to keep them informed and to ask for guidance
  • Other responsibilities as required to ensure a high quality summer program

Employment for the Summer 2026 Program is contingent upon approval from the School Boards to operate the programs and program enrollment.
