Monday through Friday - 37.5 hours per week

We are currently recruiting Registered Early Childhood Educators to become part of our talented and committed child care community to cover five (5) upcoming leaves at two of our 88 space Child Care Centres.

Qualifications

  • Early Childhood Education Diploma is required 
  • Proof of membership in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators is required
  • Standard First Aid with Infant/Child CPR - Level (C) certification is required
  • Acceptable employment-specific Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) that is dated within the last six months is required
  • Minimum two years’ experience preferred

Position Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement a quality child care program, within a warm and nurturing learning environment for infant, toddler, or preschool programs
  • Supervise the children at all times, ensuring a safe environment
  • Apply the Child Care and Early Years Act and related regulations, inquiry-based learning, and the Ministry of Education document - How Does Learning Happen?
  • Maintain a positive and consistent approach toward guiding children’s success, consistent with the philosophy and Program Statement of London Children’s Connection
  • Build positive relationships with the children, families, colleagues, and community
  • Communicate daily with parents in an open and supportive manner
  • Cultivate professionalism, confidentiality, and courtesy at all times

Work Environment

  • Physically active role requires walking, running, kneeling, standing for extended periods, and safely lifting up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to engage in active play and respond promptly in emergency situations
  • Work occurs indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Exposure to moderate noise levels due to group activities

Compensation

Starting pay range for a $27.49-$28.05 per hour (includes the Ontario Wage Enhancement Grant). Pay depends on qualifications and experience.
