6 hours / day Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 2:00 pm
Hourly Rate begins at $22.40-$22.93 which includes the Wage Enhancement Grant.

We are currently recruiting for a Dietary Planner to join our talented and dedicated Child Care team at Jack Chambers. If you love cooking and enjoy working in a collaborative environment—with no weekends or evening hours—this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Qualifications:

  • Safe Food Handling Certification
  • Understanding of Canada’s Food Guide
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in food preparation for children (18 months to 12 years)
  • Standard First Aid with CPR (Infant & Child, Level C) 
  • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check (current within 6 months)

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work creatively within a set budget
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills 
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan well-balanced menus on a rotational basis 
  • Purchase food supplies aligned with menu requirements 
  • Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory records 
  • Prepare and serve nutritious, appealing meals and snacks, accommodating dietary needs and restrictions 
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment at all times 
  • Collaborate with Dietary Planners across other Children’s Centres within LCC 
  • Work as part of a broader Children’s Centre team, including assistants and supply staff 
  • Uphold professionalism, confidentiality, and courtesy at all times
