Hours and Locations of Work

This position provides coverage of 6.5 - 8 hours per day during planned absences such as vacation, as well as same day absences due to illness or emergencies.

Hours will be scheduled between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday at any of LCC's 11 Children's Centres throughout London.

Qualifications

  • Safe Food Handling Certification
  • Minimum two years’ experience in food preparation 
  • Standard First Aid with CPR/AED Level C (Don't have this? We can help you get it!)
  • Acceptable employment-specific Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) that is dated within the last six months
  • Understanding of how to apply Canada’s Food Guide in menu planning

Position responsibilities

  • Preparing well balanced menus, including nutritious and delicious meals and snacks, on a rotational basis
  • Supporting the purchasing of food supplies to meet the needs of the menus
  • Retaining accurate purchasing records
  • Maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment at all times
  • Liaising with Dietary Planners in other Children’s Centres within LCC
  • Cultivating professionalism, confidentiality and courtesy at all times
