I'm Home Program

Program Description

I'm Home is program designed to support parents in preparing their 10 – 12 year old child to move successfully from supervised before and after school care, to safe home-based self care.

Ideally children 10 – 12 years old are supervised by a responsible adult in a safe, fun and nurturing environment. London Children’s Connection provides such supervised programs through their School Age Program. However, children mature at different ages, family needs vary, and sometimes program and family schedules conflict.

Children left unsupervised after school can experience feelings of loneliness, boredom, isolation and fear. I’m Home will concentrate on helping children feel confident and capable of looking after themselves at home, for short periods of time before and after school. Each session is full of easy to follow guidelines for children and parents to help them set up their own rules together in a fair and positive manner.
