Our Professional Development Opportunities

London Children's Connection is committed to encouraging ongoing professional
development and responsiveness to new research. Our dedicated team of knowledgeable
and caring staff, are the key to the provision of our high quality programs and services.
Some of the ways that we support Professional Development at London Children's Connection are:
- Two Professional Development Coordinators enable the provision of effective,
ongoing learning opportunities for our staff and home child care providers.
- An annual, organization wide, professional development and staff appreciation day is held
on a regular work day when all programs are closed, to enable full staff attendance.
- Resource libraries are located at the main office. Each program site displays a
collection of resources for staff and parent use.
- Regularly scheduled workshops are provided for the staff of our children's centres.
- A one week orientation and professional development program, as well as ongoing in-
service training is provided for the staff of our School Age Program.
- Toy/resource lending libraries located at the main office, support staff and home child
care providers with program enhancement.
- Home child care providers receive monthly newsletters and workshop opportunities. They
also receive on call telephone support and monthly visits to their home child care program
from our Home Child Care Coordinators, (qualified early childhood educators).
- Staff are encouraged to be aware of relevant research and to visit other programs.
- Staff are supported in attending relevant workshops and conferences that are offered by
local and more distant communities.
